History
In 1972 we came to St. Paul from the small town of Mora, just 65
miles north. We had more energy and ambition in those early days
than we had experience. We swept sidewalks, washed windows, and
did cleaning, as well as decks, roofing and painting.
Soon we learned that there was a crying need for honest, skillful
tradesmen.
The honesty part had never been lacking. It was part, after all,
of our small-town values and our personal beliefs.
The skills part we picked up as we went along. We had a few experienced
carpenters, for example, and they modeled their skills on the job
for our young people so they could grow and learn.
By the mid-1970s, we had transformed ourselves into a reputable
and skillful kitchen remodeler known as North Star Services or,
more simply, the kitchen people. As word spread
first in St. Paul, then through the metro area we added baths,
additions and other projects to our repertoire. Slowly but surely,
our reputation grew. We became known as people who cared about their
jobs and their customers; who planned carefully, worked strenuously;
and cleaned up after themselves.
These days were known as North Star Remodeling, LLC. But whatever
name you call us, North Star has always given, and continues to
give, stellar value for the money.
