North Star built my new wood-frame garage a few years back. The siding was specially milled to match the clapboards on the house. It’s a large garage that accommodates a motor home and several cars, a snow blower and other equipment. It looks like the carriage houses near Summit Avenue in St. Paul, but there’s really no second floor. (The city wouldn’t allow it.)

I probably first heard about North Star because they’re a local company, just up the street from us. I got other bids on the garage, but North Star’s was lowest, and they were close neighbors. I already had a design on hand.

They were very admirable about any small changes I requested as we went along. Their electrical work was good. The execution was fine. They responded to what I wanted, making minor changes as they went, for example, increasing a door-opening size.
